Cheryl shares first recording of son Bear's voice on Instagram as she opens up on 36th birthday plans

Cheryl shared a sweet insight into family life with two-year-old son Bear Payne as she thanked fans for their “lovely birthday wishes.”

The former Girls Aloud star turned 36 on June 30 and posted an Instagram Story video in which she thanked her followers for making her feel “blessed” on her special day.

Speaking directly to the camera behind a floral Instagram filter, she said: “I’ve been trying to do a video all morning to thank you so much for your lovely birthday wishes and the videos you’ve made.

“I saw so many lovely videos online and I just wanted to say thank you so much for making me feel thought of and so blessed on my birthday.”

Bear, who the musician shares with former One Direction star Liam Payne, could then be heard babbling away in the background.

Cheryl smiled at her “poorly” son’s chatter before signing off from her message, telling fans: “Lots of love, thank you. I have a poorly toddler so I don’t think I’ll be doing that much today.”

Cheryl and Liam, who split up last July after two-and-a-half years together, have largely chosen to keep Bear out of the spotlight.

The toddler rarely appears in his parents’ social media posts and the former couple have so far only shared photos in which Bear’s face is turned away from the camera.

Speaking to Standard Online shortly after the release of her recent single Let You, Cheryl revealed that her son has become a useful critic when it comes to testing out new material.

“If he doesn’t bop to the song I’m like, ‘Ooh maybe not,’” she said.

“He tries to sing along but he can’t really get the words right yet. But he does have the melody and the sounds of the words. He’s very musical. Even a chord that plays on an advert he starts dancing.”
