Cheryl says she has to ‘get in touch with Simon Cowell through his people’ as she says he's 'not got a mobile'

Cheryl has admitted she has to get in touch with Simon Cowell "through his people” if she wants to speak to him.

The Love Made Me Do It singer, 35, has told how she’s not in contact with her former X Factor boss after a series of “spats”, according to the Daily Star.

When asked if she turns to Cowell for career advice, Cheryl told the publication: “I would if I could, but he's not got a mobile phone anymore. It might be my fault.

"I used to drive him mad with questions and text messages and phone calls in the middle of the night. So maybe that's why he gave it up.”

She continued: “We've had our spats, but you go through spats with everyone - friends, family. You grow stronger from them.

"Simon has been a massive, massive part of my career. He's taught me a lot and I respect him."

Opening up on how she speaks to Cowell now ahead of her appearance on his new show The Greatest Dancer, she added: “I have to do it through one of his people."

Standard Online has contacted representatives of Cheryl and Simon Cowell for comment.

Cheryl shares behind the scenes videos at The Greatest Dancer

The comments come after Cheryl hinted that it is easier to get on with her co-stars on The Greatest Dancer over the X Factor as it is less 'competitive'.

The singer is one of three Dance Captains on the brand new BBC talent show, sitting alongside Glee star Matthew Morrison and Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, who will all mentor three acts each.

Cheryl said being a part of The Greatest Dancer was all about “giving” to the act instead of competing against Morrison and Mabuse, as she did on X Factor as a judge.
