Cheryl says relationships fail because she ‘tolerates too much’ in love

Cheryl has opened up on her past relationships, putting her lack of success down to “tolerating too much” from the men she dates.

The 35-year-old, who recently called time on her two-and-a-half-year relationship Liam Payne, told how she makes the same mistakes.

“I think I love too easily. I think I tolerate too much. I don't set clear enough boundaries in the beginning,” she told Sunday Times Style.

“You can’t rely on someone to make you happy. I might want somebody else to be in my life but if they don’t want to be in your life, what are you supposed to do?"

Too much: Cheryl addressed her previous relationships in new single Love Made Me Do It

The comments come after Cheryl dropped her first single in four years, Love Made Me Do It, last Friday.

The song features the lyric: “Oh my god, I’m such a sucker, I fall in love with every f*****.

"Love made me do it... and I’d do it again.”

The lyric led some to believe she was taking a shot at Payne, but she blasted the speculation, insisting it isn't about anybody.

According to the Mirror, Cheryl said: “That’s the easiest thing for the critics to write.

“But actually, all the music and songs I’ve got ready were done way before we split, none of them are about anybody.”

However, Payne appeared to show there is no bad blood between them after he congratulated his ex on her musical comeback.

He tweeted: “Congratulations @CherylOfficial on your first release in 4 years can’t wait for everyone to hear the rest.”

Payne’s fans praised the singer for being a “supportive ex-boyfriend” and a “gentleman”.
