Cheryl reveals why she's not performing on BGT final - but is in the audience

Cheryl has come back with a vengeance thanks to her new uptempo bop Let You - but there's one place she won't be performing it and that's the Britain's Got Talent final.

The singer took to her Instagram Stories to reveal the real reason why her old boss Simon Cowell hadn't asked her to appear.

She explained that by the time she had released Let You, the singing talent for the final - Susan Boyle - had already been booked.

Chezza, who was in the car with her pal Millie, also added that they wanted 'variety' acts and not too many musical numbers ruling her out.

Riding in the back of a car wearing an orange outfit, Cheryl explained to her 3.6m followers that she would be in the audience of the ITV talent show competition.

Asking her pal why she couldn't perform, Millie replied: "Because it's a variety show."

Chez gave a deadpan look to the camera: "We can give them variety..."

Millie then added: "They already had their music acts planned."

Cheryl then cleared things up: "There you go, they wanted variety, and they already had their musical acts booked before I released Let You. But I am on my way."

Earlier in the week Cheryl released her new fightback track explaining that the lyrics were "personal" but not completely "autobiographical".

She told Fault magazine that the song related closely to her own previous relationship experiences.

"I've made mistakes in relationships. I've been with men who were controlling, who made me unhappy, but I allowed it to happen. That's what this song is about."
