Cheryl given 'very rude awakening' by ex Liam Payne's plans for permanent LA move

Cheryl is said to have been given a 'very rude awakening' by ex Liam Payne's plans for a permanent move to America.

Geordie star Cheryl and former One Direction star Liam got together in 2016, with son Bear arriving a year later.

They split in 2018 but are thought to have remained on good terms ever since so much so that, earlier this month it was reported that Cheryl was considering moving to LA with Liam and Bear, with talk of them even living together in the same house.

However, according to Heat, it looks that, while Cheryl is now keen to remain in the UK, Liam is forging ahead with a permanent move over the Atlantic with current girlfriend Maya Henry as he looks to push on with his solo career, which has so far brought him success with tracks like For You and Familiar.

Speaking in magazine's latest issu,, a source said: “Both she and Liam are thinking about the bigger picture and what they want to do with their lives, and it seems Liam’s decided that – in order to really push his solo career next year – he needs to be in the States. Also, Maya’s from the US and she wants to move back there.”

Liam is apparently not opposed to the idea of maintaining their co-parenting at a longer distance, although also admitted earlier this year that FaceTime chats with Bear have proved difficult as the toddler gets easily distracted.

And he and Cheryl made the tough decision of not allowing Liam to see Bear, now 3, during lockdown, in line with Government restrictions.

The source added: "Liam’s told her that she and Bear could have their own wing in his house, but realistically they’ve got their own life in the UK and are happy here.

"Cheryl also wants another baby and wouldn’t want to be away from her friends and family. She can’t help but feel as if Liam is choosing Maya over her and Bear, even though she knows that’s not the case.”
