Cheryl doesn't want Sarah Harding to have 'any regrets' over past as she admits Girls Aloud star is 'on her brain every waking hour'

Cheryl has said she doesn't want Sarah Harding to have "any regrets" over her past as she battles cancer.

Girls Aloud singer Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and announced the news to fans in August.

The 39-year-old has since undergone a mastectomy and intensive chemotherapy but in a devastating update over the weekend, Sarah said the cancer spread to her spine.

In new excerpts from Sarah's new book, Hear Me Out, published by Glamour, bandmate Cheryl says Sarah has been "on my brain every waking hour" since she was told of her diagnosis.

The pop star said the news 'hit her hard' before adding: "Now I just want to be there for her in any way I can. She might want to cry or rant or even have a laugh, but wherever it is, just be there."

Cheryl, 37, also spoke of how she does not want Sarah to have "any regrets" and tells that she does not want her "kicking herself for things she’s done in the past."

Excerpts from Sarah's new book, Hear Me Out, were also published by in the Times over the weekend.

The candid book is set to be published this Thursday, March 18, and also features parts written by her fellow Girls Aloud stars Kimberly Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts.

Offering updates on her treatment and diagnosis, Sarah explains in the book: "In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last." And she adds later: "I'm at a stage now where I don’t know how many months I have left."

Sarah is currently considering treatment options for a secondary tumour at the base of her spine, that has possibly grown into her brain.
