Cheryl confirmed for guest judge role on Ru Paul's Drag Race UK as she teases new single

It was widely reported a few weeks ago that the contestants would be lip syncing to one of her songs and now Cheryl has been confirmed for a judging role on the first series of Ru Paul's Drag Race UK.

Filming has been taking place for the British version of the world famous show for the past month, with a number of spoilers flooding social media, one of them being that the bottom two queens had to 'lip sync for their lives' to the Geordie star's number 1 smash Call My Name.

And it's been revealed that Cheryl was on the Drag Race UK judging panel to see them do it. She will be one of a number of guest judges see on the first UK series, set to air on BBC Three, with Jade Thirlwall, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton reported to be among the others.

Taking to Facebook on Wednesday morning, Ru Paul's Drag UK posted "We have some huge news to announce! The queen of Newcastle herself, Cheryl will be on Drag Race UK as a guest judge.

Ru Paul and Michelle Visage will both be permanent judges, with Graham Norton and Alan Carr confirmed to appear on a rotating basis as judges.

Cheryl has had a busy time of things so far this year. In January she appeared as a dance caption on new BBC show The Greatest Dancer and released  new single Let You in May.

*Ru Paul's Drag Race is expected to debut on BBC iPlayer in September
