In a week of pop sensations returning to the spotlight, Cheryl is gearing up for the release of her hotly anticipated new single.
Titled Love Made Me Do It, the track marks the former Girls Aloud star’s first single in four years, as well as the first teaser for her new album.
Cheryl has said that she took four years out “for her sanity” when she sat down to chat with Jessie Ware in her Table Manners podcast. The 35-year-old also revealed that she had given up looking for love, declaring her romantic side “over”, while gushing over baby Bear.
So, without a steady focus on finding Mr Right, Cheryl has been back to the studio. Here’s what you need to know…
What is the new song about?
While the full lyrics of the new track are still under wraps, the song’s title Love Made Me Do It suggests that the singer’s romantic history is being immortalised in words.
And Cheryl has already been forced to deny that one of the lyrics, referring to “f*****”, is about Liam Payne.
The track reads: “Oh my god, I’m such a sucker, I fall in love with every f*****/Love made me do it.../I’d do it again.”
But the songstress hit back to the Mirror, saying: “That’s the easiest thing for the critics to write.
“But actually, all the music and songs I’ve got ready were done way before we split, none of them are about anybody.”
Is there a teaser?
After clearing her Instagram posts and unfollowing everyone, Cheryl shared a teaser clip from the music video. Cheryl could be seen dancing, shrouded in a silhouette effect with a taster of the tune in the first clip.
A second clip followed on Wednesday, showing Cheryl in a black outfit with two male dancers,.
