Cheryl 'cancels' R&B podcast amid break from work following Sarah Harding's death

Cheryl has made the decision to cancel her R&B podcast with BBC Sounds.

The podcast has come to an end as the singer took a break from work following the death of former bandmate and dear friend, Sarah Harding.

The 38-year-old singer made her podcasting debut during the summer with You, Me & R&B - an online space where she shared her love of the music genre that she described at the time as ‘the greatest music genre there’s ever been.’

You, Me & R&B was supposed to run for 12 episodes, however, only four were recorded.

Although there were more episodes scheduled for the future, eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but notice that Cheryl's podcast appeared to come to an abrupt end recently.

Following the realisation, fans of the podcast show reached out to the Fight For This Love hitmaker to question whether her R&B based content would ever be making a return after a few short episodes.

Cheryl has since released a statement, admitting that it 'didn't feel right' to continue recording following the death of her dear friend Sarah, who passed away from breast cancer at the age of 39 back in September.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Cheryl explained her reasoning for not continuing with the popular podcast.

The former X Factor judge wrote: "Hi, I hope you’re all doing great. I’ve seen some of your messages asking about the podcast with BBC Sounds and I wanted to let you all know that I decided not to record the last few episodes.

"It was to be recorded around the same time as Sarah’s passing."

The mum-of-one went on to tell her fans that she 'took some time off from all work commitments', after she made the decision to pull out of Birmingham Pride.

"I took a break from everything then including the series and it just didn’t feel right to revisit it again," Cheryl wrote.

"Thank you again for all of your love and support these past couple months."

Cheryl has been incredibly open about her grieving process since Sarah's death, and most recently, she shared a heartfelt tribute to her late friend on what would have been her 40th birthday.

Alongside a tear-jerking video of Sarah's incredible pop career, Cheryl wrote: "Memories may be all we’re left with, but they’re enough to last a lifetime."
