Cher sparks engagement rumours to boyfriend, 37, after Christmas Day ring pic

Cher has sparked speculation that she's engaged to her toyboy lover after posting a picture of a ring on social media.

The pop icon, 76, tweeted an image on Christmas Day with the caption: "I posted this cause his nails are so cool".

It's led to many of the Believe singer's fans asking if she and Alexander Edwards, 37, got engaged over the festivities.

But despite the numerous questions, followers have been left in the dark with the star yet to confirm or deny the rumours.

Cher announced she was seeing Def Jam chief Alexander back in November - and it looks like the couple could be about to take things that one step further.

If so, this would be her third time getting hitched.

She was married to Greg Allman from 1975 - 1978 and to the late Sonny Bono from 1964 - 1975.

Reacting to the image Cher posted on Twitter, one person said: "Amazing. Congrats," with a red love heart emoji.

Another posted: "Wow! What a beautiful shiner! Merry Christmas you two!"

While a third wrote: "3rd time’s a charm!" A fourth said: "Are you getting married?"

"Ooooh!!!! Third wedding on the cards?," penned a fifth.

Cher and Alexander met during Paris Fashion Week last September.

As we reported previously, the Cher admitted on Twitter the 40-year age gap with her toyboy is "strange on paper".

"We're happy, we're grown ups," she told followers as the Turn Back Time songstress openly spoke about her exciting new love life. Another fan asked what her favourite thing about her music producer partner was, and she replied: "He's kind, smart, hilarious and we [kiss emoji] like teenagers."
