Cher Lloyd shares tips for childcare in coronavirus lockdown

Cher Lloyd has shared some tips for other young mums to help keep young kids entertained during lockdown.

The 26-year-old chart topper is proud mum to a one-year-old daughter named Delilah-Rae who she welcomed with husband Craig Monk in May 2018.

Now in lockdown as the coronavirus pandemic keeps most at home, Cher has revealed that she and Craig are enjoying spending extra time with their daughter.

And now the star – who released comeback single Lost last week – has shared details of how she is keeping her young toddler entertained.

“I try to involve her in everything I can. I do a bit of gardening, we do a bit of cooking together. I do my best,” Cher told Metro newspaper.

Cher went on to rather modestly say she is learning how to parent as she goes.

She said: “I wish I could say I am supermum and I had all the answers and I was fantastic at keeping my screaming toddler pacified. But I really don’t. I’m winging it!”

And the former X Factor star went on to reveal she has something of a secret weapon up her sleeve in the form of a CBeebies presenter to keep Delilah-Rae entertained when she runs out of tricks.

She said: “Thank God for Mr Tumble. Love that guy. Absolutely love him.”

News of Cher’s happy home life comes after she revealed she was asked by music bosses to fake a romance to boost her fame.

Despite smashing her way to the top of the charts back in 2011 with her debut single, Swagger Jagger, the singer says bosses tried to convince her to date a fellow celeb to increase her profile – a proposition she flatly rejected.

“They gave me a few suggestions but it was just a crazy thing to ask,” Cher – who has been happily married to Craig for almost seven years – told The Sun.

“Sadly it still happens. That’s still happening in this day and age — that it’s still OK to try to make a young girl do something like that to boost a career,” she went on.

“I am never going to be that girl, I was never going to be that girl,” Cher said.
