Chennai: Biker, 23, hits median, dies

CHENNAI: A 23-year-old food delivery agent died in a road accident on Friday night near Perungalathur.

Police said S Thennarasu was a native of Pudukottai and was residing in the city in a rented room in Guduvanchery. He was working as a food delivery agent for an online mobile application.

"On Friday night while Thennarasu was returning home from work, he attempted to overtake a truck. When he was on GST Road near Perungalathur, Thennarasu managed to overtake the truck but rammed into the median and fell on the road," said the police officer.

Meanwhile, the truck, which was behind him, ran over Thennarasu. The youth died on the spot. The Chromepet traffic investigation police registered a case and sent the body to the Chromepet Government Hospital for postmortem. Further invetigations are on.
