Barry Geraghty produced another brilliant performance in the saddle to bag a double for himself and owner JP McManus as Sire Du Berlais landed a gamble as the 4-1 favourite in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle.
Sire Du Berlais, trained by Gordon Elliott, rarely appeared to be going like a winner - but Geraghty threaded his way through a wall of horses from off the pace and then got the better of a duel with 40-1 outsider Tobefair up the run-in to prevail by a neck.
Geraghty, recording his 38th Cheltenham Festival winner, said: "I thought I was in trouble three out, I got tight for room but he rallied and rallied, and it was a good performance."
