Gordon Elliott has confirmed Envoi Allen will run in the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
The Meath trainer walked the Cheltenham course on Sunday morning and has opted for Wednesday's contest over the Supreme Novices Hurdle on Tuesday after speaking to the horse's owners.
He tweeted: "After walking the track and speaking to the owners I’ve decided to run Envoi Allen in the Ballymore novice hurdle on Wednesday."
Elliott suggested at a preview night last week that Envoi Allen could run in the Supreme if the ground was heavy, but he appears happy enough with the going to run him in the Ballymore.
Envoi Allen is a general 5/4 favourite for Wednesday's opener for the undefeated six-year-old, whose wins include the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham 12 months ago.
