A lucky Dublin punter scooped a whopping jackpot after a modest bet came up trumps on Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival.
The anonymous better placed a €25 each-way accumulator via their online BoyleSports account and selected five horses running in Thursday's races, with all selections finishing in the prize money.
Chantry House (9/1) and Flooring Porter (12/1) both came home first while Milliner (8/1), Tornado Flyer (33/1) and Farclas (6/1) all finished in the places to land the canny Dub over €9,500.
The customer won an initial amount of €7,899.76, with an additional €1,692.80 added thanks to one of the horses winning at a bigger price than when the wager was struck, bringing his total winnings to €9,592.56.
BoyleSports spokeswoman, Sarah Kinsella, said: “Well done to our Dublin customer who made it look easy with five horses finishing in the prize money allowing them to roll in the cash.
"We offer them huge congratulations and hope they enjoy a good treat with the winnings of €9,592.56."
It was another great day for the Irish at the festival with six of the seven winners trained on these shores.
And it was also a good day for punters in their battle against the bookies ahead of the final day's racing tomorrow which features the big one - the Gold Cup.
Ms Kinsella said: “It was very much so a day of two halves for the layers with Envoi Allen getting us out of big trouble on winter liabilities.
"However The Shunter was well backed into 9/4 from 4/1 for Emmet Mullins and Mount Ida justifying favouritism in the finale didn’t aid us in any way.
"We will be hoping we can finish on top on Friday but with the likes of Al Boum Photo, Elimay and Zanahiyr still to come, we are not that confident."
