Chelsea youngster Reece James sends brilliant message to Fikayo Tomori after Wolves stunner

Reece James is working his way back to full fitness for Chelsea.

The 19-year-old is yet to make a first team appearance for the Blues, but is expected to make an impact in Frank Lampard's plans at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard has placed his faith in youth since arriving at the club as head coach in the summer, with a transfer embargo stopping him from signing new players.

The likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have all made an impact in the Premier League so far this season and James is another who is expected to be given an opportunity to impress by Lampard.

James spent last season on loan with Wigan Athletic, enjoying an impressive season at the DW Stadium, playing in all but one of their Championship games, scoring three times.

He suffered an ankle ligament injury while on international duty with England U20s during the summer, but is on his way back to full fitness, playing 45 minutes of Friday night's U23s clash against Brighton, and despite a naturally rusty start, he came into his own as the first half progressed.

The latest on Chelsea's injuries and Hudson-Odoi's possible return

James has been an interested spectator so far this season, and he was naturally delighted to see one of the other Chelsea academy stars playing an important role in the win over Wolves on Saturday.

Tomori opened the scoring at Moilneux with a stunner from 30 yards - only the second senior goal of his career.

James had no words for the strike, instead using emojis to react to the strike on Twitter.
