Chelsea youngster Faustino Anjorin breaks silence after netting first professional goal

Young Chelsea midfielder Tino Anjorin has been left to reflect on a "night to remember" after scoring his first professional goal in football.

The young English forward joined Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow on-loan earlier this summer for the 2021/22, with the option of a permanent deal.

The move is the 19-year-old’s first chance away from Chelsea having progressed through the club’s youth academy.

He had made his debut for Lokomotiv Moscow last time out as he was introduced off of the bench against KS Samara, whilst he was also given a chance late on against Marseille on Thursday in the first match of the Europa League group stages.

He proved to be crucial to the final result as he swept home a late equaliser from the edge of the area to secure a point for 10-man Lokomotiv after former Leicester City loanee Cengiz Under had given the French side the lead.

The strike was even more special for Anjorin as it was his first goal in professional football having netted prolifically for Chelsea’s youth sides throughout his career, whilst he has also not yet opened his senior account for the Blues in five appearances.

He took to Instagram after the game to give his thoughts on his strike and a promising result for his new side.

“A night to remember! Tough game but the boys dug deep to get the point. Thanks to the fans for the support, you guys were amazing,” Anjorin wrote.

The youngster will certainly hope he has done enough to earn his first start for Lokomotiv, with the club set to tackle Ural in league action on Monday.

As it stands Marko Nikolić’s men sit third in the Russian Premier League having gone undefeated in their opening seven games of the campaign.
