Armando Borja announces Timo Werner transfer

Highly-rated Chelsea youngster Armando Borja has taken to Instagram to all but confirm the club's decision to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

The Blues, who will resume their Premier League campaign in a little over a week's time, are understood to be close to activating the £53million release clause in the Germany international's contract before it expires on June 15.

Now, with the deal believed to be heading in the right direction, Borja has suggested that the striker is definitely joining the Blues.

Borja said: "What do I think about Werner coming in? I think Werner is a really good player."

Agent Rudiger drops Kai Havertz transfer hint

Blues defender Antonio Rudiger sent Chelsea's supporters into a frenzy on Thursday morning as he sent a message to Blues transfer target Kai Havertz.

The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, who is considered as one of the most highly-rated youngsters in European football, is believed to be on the Blues' radar, as Frank Lampard - the Chelsea head coach - aims to bolster his attacking options.

Rudiger, who has played alongside Havertz at international level for Germany, sent Havertz a message to wish him 'Happy Birthday'.

Blues learn new transfer window changes

FIFA have announced a change to their rules that will allow the Football Association to open the summer transfer window before the end of the 2019/20 season, which could be seen as good news to the Blues.

It was feared that the window wouldn't open until the campaign in England was finished at the very end of July.

However, FIFA have now released a statement which has confirmed two important regulations changes.

In part, the statement read: "In order to avoid any concerns regarding unemployed players, players are permitted to be registered with a maximum of three clubs and are eligible to play in official matches for three clubs during the same season."
