Chelsea XI vs Wolves: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Carabao Cup today

Enzo Maresca is expected to make changes for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup tie against Wolves - (ES Composite)

Enzo Maresca has confirmed that striker Liam Delap is available for selection as Chelsea tonight travel to Wolves in the Carabao Cup.

Delap, who won’t play the full 90 against Wolves, is expected to be one of a number of changes to the side that lost in stoppage time at home to Sunderland at the weekend.

Joao Pedro, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez all looked off the pace against Sunderland, with Maresca admitting the trio were all playing through injuries after a hectic start to the new season, and they are set to be handed a rest as the Blues travel to Molineux.

Levi Colwill, Cole Palmer and Benoit Badiashile are all long-term absentees, though right-back Malo Gusto is expected to return to the side, having served a one-game suspension for his red card against Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea are looking to bounce back with a resounding victory against a Wolves side whose woeful start to the season continued with a stoppage-time defeat to Burnley.

Despite admitting he would make wholesale changes to the team that lost to Sunderland, Maresca didn’t seek to downplay the importance of the Carabao Cup, with Chelsea just three games away from making the final.

“It's three games away from the final. So we need to have the desire to play for that. As we said many times, we need to go game by game,” Maresca said in his pre-match press conference.

“Now the first one is Wolves tomorrow, we need to be focused on them. And then, hopefully winning the game, we can think about the next one.”

Predicted Chelsea XI: Jorgensen; Gusto, Fofana, Tosin, Hato; Lavia, Santos; Estevao, Buonanotte, Gittens; Delap

Injured: Colwill, Palmer, Badiashile, Essugo

Doubts: Joao Pedro, Fernandez, Caicedo

Unavailable: Mudryk

Venue: Molineux
