Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will be hopeful N'Golo Kante can recover from a hamstring problem in time to face Newcastle United on Saturday.
The France midfielder missed last weekend’s win over Burnley as a precaution and will be assessed before the Blues travel to Tyneside. Chelsea face Arsenal on Tuesday and any doubts over Kante’s fitness may see him sit out again.
Ross Barkley deputised and he is likely to remain involved in some capacity amid interest from West Ham, who are hoping to capitalise on a lack of first-team football of late.
However, Barkley was an important figure for Lampard prior to injuries and off-field issues derailing his progress.
Christian Pulisic revealed earlier this week he is still at least a fortnight away from returning to action following an adductor injury while Marcus Alonso has been struggling with a thigh problem for almost a month.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is continuing his rehabilitation from an Achilles tendon injury.

Chelsea predicted XI (4-3-3): Kepa, James, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpilicueta; Barkley, Jorginho, Mount; Willian, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi
