Chelsea wonderkids react on Instagram as Billy Gilmour delivers cryptic injury update

Billy Gilmour is back in training and could soon make his Chelsea return.

The Scottish youngster has been sidelined since July with a serious knee injury, but is heading in the right direction having taken part in training alongside the likes of N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Kai Havertz, and Werner ahead of the weekend's win over Burnley.

Gilmour, as expected, didn't make the trip to Turf Moor, but Blues head coach Frank Lampard did reveal last month that the midfielder was on course to return in November.

"He is progressing well," Lampard confirmed. "It was forecast as a four month injury when he went into surgery, so we are looking at about four weeks from now that he will hopefully be fit, barring any hiccups.

"It has been a difficult injury.

"His attitude and everything he approaches in his professional life is spot on so he hopefully should be four weeks.

"He will be an important member of the squad at that point.

"We all know his breakthrough last year and what he gave to the group and we hope to see much more of that."

And as Gilmour prepares to make his return, he's been active on social media with some injury updates for Chelsea fans.

His most recent post on Instagram is a picture gallery of him in a training session at Cobham ahead of the Champions League clash against Rennes.

As seen in the image above, Gilmour included a rather cryptic message with his use of emojis.

The happy face and battery emoji would suggest Lampard's four-week prediction regarding him being fully fit has come true.

The aforementioned post prompted a reaction from two Chelsea wonderkids.

Lewis Bate responded with a fire emoji.

Meanwhile, Ian Maatsen - currently on loan at Charlton Athletic - replied with a couple of heart emojis.
