Chelsea vs West Brom prediction: Mason Mount to continue to silence critics

Chelsea are the heavy favourites at 2/9 with Betfred while West Bromwich Albion at a lengthy 14/1 for their clash.

For some, they will be surprised to find Thomas Tuchel keeping his confidence in Timo Werner - 10/3 to score first - who has confirmed he will start in the match today.

The Blues are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League meetings with West Brom - winning five and drawing twice - including coming from 3-0 down at half-time to draw 3-3 in the reverse fixture at the Hawthorns.

West Brom are winless in their last 15 away league games against Chelsea picking up just three draws since September 1978.

Chelsea 3-0 West Brom (6/1) - The Blues have not conceded a goal in their last four Premier League matches - with a 50% win rate. As things stand, Sam Allardyce's side are yet to show themselves as serious survival contenders - one win in five and 10 points from safety. This has a Chelsea win all over it.

Who are you backing for first goalscorer?

Mason Mount (13/2) is a strong contender. He has scored five league goals and four assists in the Premier League already. Tuchel is a big fan of the attack-minded midfielder and produced consistent performance after consistent performance for his new German boss.

After picking up a goal on international duty, he will be looking to do the same for his club too.

Hakim Ziyech has found the net in his last two matches in all competitions for the Blues too so is in with a shout at 6/1 or 15/8 anytime.

Who is going to be on the naughty step?

N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount are both serious contenders to enter the referee's book.

Kante (7/2 to be carded) has picked up six yellow cards in the Premier League alone and has conceded 33 fouls so far this season which would suggest he will be on the receiving of a talking to at least from ref David Coote.

Mount meanwhile has conceded 44 fouls - more than his French teammate - and at 5/1 is an attractive option for today's match.

Who is on penalties?

Jorginho (13/10 anytime) is fit again and if he features will be back on penalty duty after his spell on the sidelines.
