Chelsea vs Valencia LIVE: Uefa Champions League 2019-20 commentary live stream, TV channel, score, prediction

Chelsea mark their return to the Champions League under new manager Frank Lampard with a home tie against Spanish side Valencia.

Having won the competition as a player in 2012, the 41-year-old makes his managerial debut in the competition against the side the Blues beat on their way to their maiden Champions League triumph.

The Liga outfit have been left in disarray after the departure of coach Marcelino with Albert Celades taking charge of the team for their heavy 5-2 defeat to Barcelona on Saturday.

Things are looking up for Lampard's side after an emphatic victory by the same scoreline against Wolves at Molineux, with Tammy Abraham scoring a hat-trick to make it seven goals in five games.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Valencia

Both teams are at very different stages in their respective seasons with Chelsea scoring five while Valencia conceded that many in their previous game.

Youngsters Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount have set the Premier League alight with some dazzling displays and American winger Christian Pulisic could impress on the European stage if given the chance.

Scoring goals hasn't been a problem for Lampard's men, but the fact they have conceded 13 in just six games under Lampard.

That could give Valencia some hope in grabbing at least one goal at Stamford Bridge, although the Blues are expected to come through their first European test with a narrow victory.

Head to head (h2h) results and history

Chelsea boast an impressive record against the Spanish side, beating Valencia three times and drawing the other three meetings.

However, they have only won once in their three games against them at Stamford Bridge - a 3-0 victory in their last encounter in December 2011.
