Chelsea vs Southampton
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Kick-off time: 7:45pm GMT

Chelsea host Southampton on Wednesday as they look to gain ground on London rivals Tottenham.

While they have lost two league matches in December the Blues have picked up back-to-back wins during the festive period, beating Watford and Crystal Palace.

Southampton meanwhile are looking a very different proposition under new manager Ralph Hasenhüttl, who has led Saints out of the bottom three.

Team news and line-ups

Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Willian, Morata, Hazard

Subs: Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek, Caballero, Zappacosta, Christensen, Emerson Palmieri, Ampadu

Southampton: Gunn, Vestergaard, Yoshida, Bednarek, Cedric, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Valery, Redmond, Armstrong, Ings

Subs: McCarthy, Stephens, Long, Austin, Elyounoussi, Ramsey, Slattery

Referee: Jonathan Moss (County Durham)

Score prediction: Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Saints are looking stronger and stronger under Hasenhüttl but with Eden Hazard currently performing at his sparkling best he should be able to bail out the Blues.
