Chelsea vs Southampton LIVE: Premier League football as it happened at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea 0-0 Southampton
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Stamford Bridge

Chelsea were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Southampton, who had debutant Angus Gunn to thank for a string of fine saves.

Eden Hazard was denied when his fierce half-volley was tipped away by the 22-year-old, who was making his Premier League debut after a summer move from Manchester City.

Alvaro Morata did have the ball in the net after a lovely move involving Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard, but the flag went up for offside.

And the Blues were denied a big claim for a penalty in stoppage time when Shane Long appeared to push Marcos Alonso over in the penalty area, but referee Jon Moss wasn't interested in the Blues' protests.

It means that Chelsea remain in fourth but are now just three points clear of Arsenal in fourth, and a further four points back from top four rivals Tottenham.
