Chelsea head into this weekend’s clash with Southampton off the back of their first defeat in the Premier League this season at the hands of Manchester City.
The Blues headed into last Saturday’s early title clash with City top of the league, but after a disappointing display on their part, they’ve slipped to third, one point behind the new leaders, Liverpool.
However, there’s no cause for concern at Stamford Bridge, especially as there’s no shame in losing to the reigning champions. With games coming thick and fast, Thomas Tuchel will be putting defeat to City behind him very quickly and will now be looking ahead to what should be a routine win for Chelsea against the Saints.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team are amongst the league’s early strugglers this season, taking just four points from their opening six games – all four of which came from draws.
Nevertheless, they did manage to hold City to a stalemate at the Etihad two weeks ago and will be looking to get their first win sooner rather than later.
