Chelsea vs Manchester United result simulated on FIFA 20

Manchester United face one of their top four rivals on Monday evening as they take on Frank Lampard's Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

January signings Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo are both expected to feature, with Fernandes likely to start and Ighalo set for a bench role.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be without key players Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, who are out due to injury.

So, what line-up will Solskjaer go with? And, what will the final score against the Blues be?

Ahead of the game, we used FIFA 20 to simulate the outcome of Chelsea vs Manchester United to get a unique score prediction, just for a bit of fun.

Chelsea vs Manchester United on FIFA 20

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 20 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a unique prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to world class, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the line-up as follows: Kepa; James, Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta; Kante, Kovacic; Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Willian; Abraham.

We predict that Manchester United could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Williams; Fred, Matic; Pereira, Fernandes, James; Martial.

United had to survive and absorb a lot of pressure in the opening 30 minutes, with Chelsea keeping the ball well and looking to probe the away side's defence, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side stood firm and were retaining a threat on the counter too.

But towards the end of the first half, the game swung in United's direction, and then came the first big chance. Martial got across his marker at the near post, getting his toe to the ball, but Kepa was alive to the danger and saved with his feet.

Then just before the half-time whistle, United took advantage of their period of dominance to take the lead.

A cross from James on the right evaded Christensen, who fell over trying to block the cross, landing in Martial's path. The Frenchman then took a touch and fired into the top corner from close range. A really good finish.

In the second half, United's dominance grew, with Fernandes and James both having efforts saved by Kepa in the opening period of the half.

But it took a lovely bit of skill from Martial to beat the opposition 'keeper once again.

Fernandes rolled a lovely pass across the face of goal into Martial's path, but it was slightly behind him, so the Frenchman backheeled the ball through Kepa's legs and into the back of the net.

Talk about nonchalant.

Chelsea did get a goal back late on, when Willian struck on the break for the Blues after a corner was cleared, but United held on for what could be a crucial three points come the end of the season.

Full-time score: Chelsea 1-2 Manchester United

Here are the full-time match stats.

Martial was the game's Man of the Match, scoring twice, including a superb second effort, which sealed the game for Solskjaer's side.

This FIFA 20 simulation predicts that Chelsea will dominate ball in the opening stages, but if United can survive a tough opening period, they will improve as the game goes on and have every chance of taking the three points on Monday night.

What do you think the score will be?

And, which team do you think Solskjaer will go with against Chelsea?
