Chelsea vs Malmo FF
Europa League 2018-19 | Round of 32, second leg
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Kick-off: 8pm GMT, tonight
Chelsea will look to confirm their place in the Europa League last 16 when they welcome Malmo to Stamford Bridge.
Goals from Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud sealed a first-leg win in Sweden last Thursday – although Anders Christiansen’s late effort offers Malmo some faint hope.
While there is still a job to be done in west London, Sarri will undoubtedly have one eye on Sunday’s EFL Cup final against Manchester City.
Chelsea team news
Chelsea will be without goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this evening after the Spaniard suffered a hamstring injury in Monday’s FA Cup defeat by Man Utd.Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero is set to start, while Maurizio Sarri is expected to make as many as seven changes outfield with the Blues keeping one eye on Sunday’s EFL Cup final with Man City.
Pedro is struggling with a stomach ache and is set to be replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi with the front-three set for a complete reshuffle.
Sarri is expected to rest Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain, with Willian and Olivier Giroud joining Hudson-Odoi in attack.
Mateo Kovacic is expected to keep his place in midfield, but both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will be spared, with Ethan Ampadu and Ruben Loftus-Cheek coming in.
At the back, Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger will be joined by Andreas Christensen and Emerson.
Probable team lineups
Chelsea (4-3-3): Caballero; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Emerson; Ampadu, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek; Hudson-Odoi, Giroud, Willian
Malmo (4-4-2): Dahlin; Vindhelm, Nielson, Bengtsson, Safari; Trautason, Christiansen, Bachirou, Rieks; Antonsson, Rosenborg
Score prediction: Chelsea 3-0 Malmo
Even with key players rested again, Chelsea should have no problems putting this tie to bed.
