Chelsea vs Leicester City: Prediction, tickets, live stream, TV, team news – Premier League 2019-20 preview

Chelsea vs Leicester City
Uefa Super Cup
Venue: Stamford Bridge, London
Date: Sunday, 18 August, 2019
Kick-off time: 4:30pm BST

Frank Lampard is aiming to avoid a hat-trick of defeats as Chelsea manager when Leicester head to west London on Sunday.

Stamford Bridge legend Lampard has had a tricky start to life in the Chelsea dugout, with the Blues being thumped 4-0 by Manchester United last weekend before losing the Uefa Super Cup to Liverpool on penalties in midweek.

Chelsea have by no means been terrible in either game, but a leaky defence coupled with a profligate attack has seen them fall to two defeats - and Brendan Rodgers' Leicester will make it a third unless the Blues improve at both ends of the pitch in what will be Lampard's homecoming game at the Bridge.

Chelsea vs Leicester team news and predicted lineups

Christian Pulisic should once again start after impressing against Liverpool, while N'Golo Kante completed 120 minutes in Istanbul and looks ready for more on Sunday.

Olivier Giroud may retain his starting role after a Super Cup goal, with Tammy Abraham off target coming off the bench as well as missing the vital penalty shootout spot-kick.

Willian will be pushing for a place in the XI, especially after Pedro played the full 120 against Liverpool.

Chelsea XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Christensen, Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Willian, Pulisic, Giroud

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Leicester

Despite two straight defeats, Lampard has plenty of cause for optimism heading into Sunday's clash.

Kante and Pulisic both looked superb in Turkey, and the Blues created more than enough chances to beat Liverpool - but taking them has been the problem.

If Chelsea slow down a little in front of goal, they could hit a few against Leicester - but Rodgers' Foxes could easily leave west London will all three points if they can get Jamie Vardy in behind that leaky defence.
