Chelsea vs Grimsby Town odds: Giroud or Batshuayi tipped to score first at Stamford Bridge

A tough pill to swallow after an impressive display from Frank Lampard's side at the weekend.

Once again, VAR was the centre of attention after disallowing Cesar Azpilicueta's equaliser due to a player being offside in the build-up.

Frank Lampard's side lost to league leaders Liverpool 2-1 at home and will want to get his first home win under his belt sooner rather than later.

He has the perfect chance as he welcomes a Grimsby Town side just two points off the play-off spots in League Two.

Recommended bets:

  • Olivier Giroud or Michy Batshuayi (whoever starts) to score first - 3/1
  • Chelsea to win 3-0 - 9/2

We spoke with Andy Ha ahead of the match at Stamford Bridge.

Win, lose or draw?

Chelsea could name a very exciting team for this, with Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James and Christian Pulisic all in line for starts. The Blues should have far too much quality for the Mariners. 3-0 to Chelsea.

First goalscorer?

It remains to be seen if Frank Lampard starts Olivier Giroud or Michy Batshuayi up front, but whoever gets the nod should be favourite to open the scoring.

Both Giroud and Batshuayi are 3/1 to score first .

First card?

Ross Barkley is set to play, so I'll plump for him.

Who is on penalties?

After the miss against Valencia last week, surely Barkley will want the chance to put things right.

The England midfielder is 13/2 to score first and 7/4 anytime .

Will you keep a clean sheet?

Yes. Even with a second string back four, Chelsea should be comfortable to stop Grimsby from finding the net at 2/5.
