Chelsea vs Everton prediction and odds: Reece James backed to impress at Stamford Bridge

Rafa Benitez prepares for his return to Stamford Bridge as the former Chelsea boss meets his former employers with his Everton side in the Premier League.

Chelsea are the heavy favourites at 11/50 with Grosvenor Sport while Everton are 13/1 and a draw is 23/4.

Thomas Tuchel will be looking to get some sort of winning momentum back in the side as they look for their first back-to-back win since October.

The Blues have picked up three wins in their last five but a defeat against West Ham United and a draw to Manchester United meant they have dropped down to third and are four points behind new league leaders Liverpool.

They will be looking to keep all three points at Stamford Bridge as they welcome an Everton side struggling under Benitez.

Despite bringing Europa League success, Benitez never had the strongest of relationships with the supporters with his affiliations to Liverpool and things are not going great for the Toffees boss.

They have spiralled down the Premier League table and are now 14th having picked up just one win in their last 10 Premier League matches.

Team stats

  • Chelsea have finished just seven of their 16 Premier League matches with both sides scoring while Everton have finished just nine this way too. Both teams to not score is 1/2.
  • For corners, the Blues average 11.1 total corners overall and 11.6 at home matches while Everton average 9.8 overall and 9.1 away from home. Over 10.5 is 10/11.

Player to watch

Reece James has been formidable for Chelsea this season and I have no doubt he will play a key role in this match.

The right-wing back has been in strong form this season picking up four goals and four assist along the way and has been strong defensively too.

Recently, he has had disciplinary issues and has picked up four yellow cards in his last five matches but he still looks threatening on the right-wing.

H2H

This will be the the 187th meeting between the two sides with Chelsea picking up 74 wins to Everton's 57 along with 54 draws.

No club has managed to do the double over the other in the league since Chelsea in the 2016/17 season winning 5-0 at home and 3-0 away.

Everton have not won at Stamford Bridge since November 1994 in a 1-0 win.
