The game mattered very little for the Toffees, who are safe from relegation, but Moyes will be disappointed with the display nonetheless. Chelsea, who created 0.98 expected goals throughout, opened the scoring in the first half as Jackson turned in space on the edge of the box, and his driven effort found its way into the bottom corner. After the break, the Toffees improved, and they should have equalised as McNeil struck a volley from close range, but Sanchez was equal to it, making a superb diving save to deny him. Chelsea took their foot off the gas in the second half, but they were deserved winners in the end. From the resulting goal-kick, Pickford's pass into Beto wasn't held up by the Everton striker, allowing Chelsea to win back possession. Enzo found the feet of Jackson, and he turned before firing into the bottom corner superbly from range. It's been a dominant display from Chelsea, but they've not needed to be at a high level to be in front.
