Chelsea vs Brighton LIVE: Stream, score, goals and latest updates from the Premier League

Chelsea host Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge with Maurizio Sarri in desperate need of a result after last week’s lucky escape against Cardiff.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to get a long-awaited first start in the Premier League, while Eden Hazard and N’golo Kante are also expected to return to the starting line-up.

Marcos Alonso has been ruled out the match with injury. A win would see Chelsea leapfrog Manchester United into at least fifth in the table, dependant on Tottenham's result tonight against Crystal Palace. Follow it live:

Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of tonight's Premier League action.

  • Tottenham host Crystal Palace in their first game at the new stadium.
  • Champions Manchester City look to return to the top of the table against Cardiff.

Tottenham play their first match in their new stadium tonight against Crystal Palace, but at the end of an 18-year journey has the wait be worth it?

For Levy, the secret to Spurs' stunning home is in the detail

What stands out about the stadium is not just that it obviously makes every other Premier League ground feel instantly dated. It’s that it makes them feel so unsatisfactory, so short of what is possible in a stadium

A lot will be made about Tottenham's new stadium but it can't be argued that the new stadium isn't magnificent!
It's a big night for the top of the Premier League table.

Tottenham can move back up to third with a much needed win over Crystal Palace but a loss at their new ground could see them drop out of the top four.

Chelsea, in desperate need of a good performance under Maurizio Sarri, would move into the top four if they beat Brighton and Tottenham lose to Palace.

For Man City, they can leapfrog Liverpool at the top of the table with victory over struggling Cardiff, but the visitors could cut the gap at the bottom of the table to just two-points if they can cause a major upset at the Etihad.

It looks set to be a fascinating night of Premier League football.
