Chelsea produced a stunning performance to dismantle Barcelona as a long standing European football rivalry was renewed in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Goals from Estevao and Liam Delap in addition to Jules Kounde putting the ball through his own net ensured a first win over the Blaugrana for the Blues since 2012.
The victory sees Enzo Maresca's side move onto ten points after five games in this season's League Phase and will fancy their chances of a top-eight finish. Attentions now turn to Sunday's Premier League clash against leaders Arsenal, but the Blues are in fine form.
As for Barca, they should have broken the deadlock when Ferran Torres was put clean through early on, but they were very much second best in west London and had no response after being reduced to ten-men late in the first half when Ronald Araujo was sent-off for two bookable offences. Follow the Chelsea vs Barcelona back below with Standard Sport's dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Dom Smith and Sam Tabuteau at Stamford Bridge!

Chelsea player ratings
22:13 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneReece James 8
Some sloppy passes early on put Chelsea under pressure, but he recovered excellently and laid the ball into the path of Estevao for the Blues’ second. Snapped into tackles as Chelsea went after Barcelona with a vengeance.
Moises Caicedo 8
Rested against Burnley, he was full of energy here, rising to the occasion in yet another big game. Made a great tackle on the edge of his own box to cut out a rare Barcelona attack in the first half.
Estevao 9
Announced himself on the biggest stage. Pitted up against Yamal, he overshadowed the Barcelona man no end and doubled Chelsea’s lead with a sumptuous goal. Should have had an assist for a deft through ball to Neto.

Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona
20:35 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne33 min: Decent idea from Lamine Yamal as he runs onto Ferran’s pass and shoots, though his effort lacks any power and Sanchez makes an easy save down low.

How wonderkids Lamine Yamal and Estevao compare
19:20 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneTonight's Champions League showdown between Chelsea and Barcelona pits two of Europe’s finest young talents against each other.
Lamine Yamal is already a household name, having guided Spain to European Championship glory last summer.
Meanwhile, Estevao is quickly gaining attention for his performances, as Chelsea’s young squad makes their presence felt on both the domestic and European stage.
The talented pair are at different stages of their careers despite both being just 18 years old.
No one is in any doubt about the talent that Yamal possesses, but for Estevao, Tuesday’s match is an opportunity to show that he belongs at the top table after a promising start.

Dom Smith at Stamford Bridge
19:00 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneReally fascinating Chelsea line-up, in which it looks as though Estevao may well be starting in the No10 position in Cole Palmer's absence.
Two right-backs are starting, which means either Reece James or Malo Gusto in midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez and the returning Moises Caicedo.
Liam Delap and Joao Pedro are both benched in two of five changes, and that isn't too much of a surprise given how ineffectual both were at Burnley on Saturday.

Cole Palmer suffered freak injury after ‘losing game on FIFA’
18:35 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneMarc Cucurella has cheekily hinted Cole Palmer stubbed his toe after losing a game on FIFA.
Palmer suffered a freak injury last week when he stubbed the little toe on his left foot against a door at his home.
The injury came the day before he was due to return to training following two months out with a groin injury and has delayed his return to first-team sessions.
Palmer will miss Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Barcelona and Enzo Maresca remains pessimistic of his chances of being available to face Arsenal on Sunday.

Palmer injury latest
18:30 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneEnzo Maresca has revealed Cole Palmer is “feeling good” following his return to individual training after suffering a fractured toe.
Palmer was last week closing in on a return for Chelsea after two months out with his persistent groin problem when he suffered a freak injury at his home last Wednesday.
The England international stubbed the little toe on his left foot on a door, which saw him ruled out of a return to action in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Burnley or against Barcelona or Arsenal this week.
Palmer’s left boot has been adapted, with more cushioning added to the area around his injured toe in a bid to speed up his return.

Predicted Barcelona XI
18:25 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneMarcus Rashford is fit line up alongside Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski in attack for Barcelona against Chelsea.
Rashford missed Barca’s 4-0 La Liga win against Athletic Club on Saturday with flu but has returned to training and is available for the Champions League showdown at Stamford Bridge.
Raphinha is fit again but he is likely to start on the bench, with Rashford on the left and Yamal on the right.
Barcelona predicted XI (4-3-3): Joan Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Balde; De Jong, Eric Garcia, Fermin; Yamal, Lewandowski, Rashford.

Estevao out to upstage Lamine Yamal in battle of wonderkids
18:20 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneThe stage is set for a battle of the wonderkids as Estevao, already a Chelsea fans’ favourite, seeks to announce himself at the highest level and upstage Lamine Yamal, writes Dom Smith.
Estevao was rested against Burnley but is expected to play at Stamford Bridge, either from the off or through a decent chunk of game-time from the bench.

Barcelona squad revealed
18:15 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneHansi Flick has included Marcus Rashford in the Barcelona squad for the high-profile league phase clash against Chelsea.
Goalkeepers: Joan Garcia, Szczesny, Kochen
Defenders: Balde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Christensen, Gerard Martin, Kounde, Eric
Midfielders: M. Casado, Olmo, De Jong, Bernal, Fermin, Dro
Forwards: Ferran, Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Rashford, Roony
Predicted Chelsea XI
18:10 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneMoises Caicedo is expected to return to the side after being left on the bench throughout against Burnley following his international exertions with Ecuador. It was the first time that the midfielder had not featured in a Premier League game under Enzo Maresca.
Caicedo’s return will likely see Andrey Santos moved back to the bench, while Estevao Willian is pushing to start against Barcelona following his sparkling form for club and country in recent weeks. Alejandro Garnacho is fresh having not gone away with Argentina this month.
Predicted Chelsea XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Fofana, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Estevao, Joao Pedro, Garnacho; Delap.

They have not beaten the Catalans since the 2012 semi-finals, when they won 1-0 at home and drew 2-2 away before beating Bayern Munich in the showpiece.
Chelsea wins: 5
Barcelona wins: 6

Chelsea vs Barcelona prediction
17:50 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneThese two sides are separated by goal difference only in the Champions League and both now sit second in their respective domestic leagues, albeit with Barcelona having amassed eight more points having played one game extra.
Both teams have been curiously inconsistent in Europe so far despite their encouraging starts at home, needing to work hard earlier this month to avoid shock defeats by Qarabag and Brugge.
We anticipate a tense and cagey affair on Tuesday that likely ends all square.
Draw, 1-1.
Barcelona team news: Rashford available
17:45 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneMarcus Rashford is included in Barcelona’s travelling squad having resumed training in the aftermath of a bout of flu that forced him to miss the win over Athletic Club.
Raphinha and goalkeeper Joan Garcia both returned in that game, while Alejandro Balde went off at half-time as a precaution but does make the trip.
The visit to Chelsea comes too soon for Pedri, with Gavi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen remaining long-term absentees.

Chelsea team news: Palmer absent
17:40 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneChelsea remain without Cole Palmer, whose imminent return from a persistent groin injury that has bothered him all season was delayed after he fractured the little toe on his left foot after stubbing a door in a freak accident at home last week.
Enzo Maresca confirmed on Monday that Palmer was back training with a specially adapted boot and “feeling good”, though won’t play against Barcelona and remains a doubt for Sunday’s showdown with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
