Chelsea vs Arsenal: Unai Emery admits Gunners did not deserve to win Europa League final

Unai Emery admitted his Arsenal side's performance meant they did not deserve to beat Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Arsenal conceded four second half goals in Baku and will play in the Europa League for a third successive season after failing to qualify for the Champions League by winning the secondary competition.

Former Gunners forward Olivier Giroud opened the scoring shortly after the break and Pedro quickly doubled the lead before Arsenal had even registered a shot on target in the game.

Eden Hazard then turned the screw on the underperforming side and scored two goals either side of Alex Iwobi's consolation goal.

"The result is like that," Emery told BT Sport.

"They deserved to win with maybe some more," he added.

"First half we played and worked with good a challenge to take a good result we get to the box with some options and some chances to score and the match was going like a we can think.

"The second half the first goal changed all and after it we tried to keep in the match and find one goal but their second goal was difficult for us.

"I think the second half, things were going better for them and when we wanted to do something we didn’t find it."
