Chelsea vs Ajax lineups: Confirmed team news and starting XIs for tonight's Champions League game

N'Golo Kante has been named on the bench by Chelsea for their Champions League tie against Ajax on Tuesday evening.

The French midfielder has endured an injury-plagued season to date and missed each of the last five matches due to knee, ankle and hamstring issues.

He was ruled out of Saturday's 2-1 win at Watford with a groin problem and was believed to be in a race against time to be fit for the return clash with Ajax at Stamford Bridge.

Kante is named on the bench for Tuesday's Group H contest alongside Andreas Christensen, though Pedro and Olivier Giroud both miss out along with the injured Ross Barkley and Antonio Rudiger.

The only change made by Frank Lampard following the victory at Watford sees Marcos Alonso replace Emerson at left-back, with the latter not in the matchday squad.
