Chelsea 'up bid' for Achraf Hakimi and consider player swap to tempt Inter Milan

Chelsea have reportedly 'upped' their bid for Inter Milan wingback Achraf Hakimi and have considered a player swap.

The Blues enjoyed a joyous end to the 2020/21 campaign, finishing fourth in the Premier League and clinching their second ever Champions League trophy after defeating Manchester City in last month's final.

However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel still wants to make some significant changes to the team in an attempt to challenge on all fronts next season.

The Blues are reportedly in the market for a midfielder and a striker, as well as a right-wing-back that can fit into Tuchel's favoured 3-4-3 system.

Inter Milan's Archaf Hakim has been the name that has often been mentioned and Chelsea have offered Inter £43million plus Emerson Palmieri for Hakimi, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The report also claims that Chelsea would be willing to add another player into the deal with Davide Zappacosta, Mateo Kovacic or Tammy Abraham the main options they were thinking of.

Both Zappacosta and Kovacic have both spent time in Italy already with the latter previously spending time at the Nerazzurri before moving to Real Madrid in 2015.

Hakimi joined the Italian side just a year ago but. Inter's financial issues mean they may be forced to sell some of their best players.

While Romelu Lukaku has already committed his future to the club, the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Hakimi could leave the San Siro in order for the Italians to clear some debts.
