Chelsea unveil new third kit Kai Havertz, N'Golo Kante and co will wear for the 2021/22 season

The kit complement for Chelsea this season is now complete after the Blues revealed their new third kit for the 2021/22 season on Thursday morning.

To go alongside the traditional blue home strip and the new yellow away jersey, Chelsea have released a green and black number as their alternative kit for the new campaign.

Chelsea’s official spiel on the kilt, which is always a joy to read whenever a team announces near gear, says: “The green and black has long been associated with statement Nike outerwear pieces, the crimson adds vibrancy and that pop of colour is reflective of the club’s youthful energy.

“The ‘Pride of London’ logo is also present on the inside of the jersey, serving as a reminder of the club’s values and status in the capital.

"As Chelsea aim to add further honours to the Champions League title we won last season, the club's 2021/22 third kit is reflective of a modern era for the club, characterised by youthful energy and everything that represents."

As with the home and away shirts, the new third strip is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

The kit has been launched on the day the Blues will discover their opponents in this season's Champions Legaue, where they will start as defending champions after that glorious night in Porto back in May.

The draw will be made in Istanbul, which was due to host the final last season before it was placed on the UK Government's red list for travel, at around 4.45pm this afternoon.

The Blues will be placed in Pot 1 as defending champions so their first opponent will be drawn from pot 2 for the group stage. The teams in pot 2 are Barcelona (Spain), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Juventus (Italy), Liverpool (England), Manchester United (England), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Real Madrid (Spain), Sevilla (Spain).

Then it will be pot 3 and the Blues could get: Ajax (Netherlands), Atalanta (Italy), Benfica (Portugal), FC Salzburg (Austria), Porto (Portugal), RB Leipzig (Germany), Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Zenit St Petersburg (Russia).

And finally, the pot 4 teams will be drawn and in there, the Blues could face: AC Milan (Italy), Besiktas (Turkey), Club Brugge (Belgium), Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine), Malmo (Sweden), Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova), Wolfsburg (Germany), Young Boys (Switzerland).
