Chelsea transfer target Andre Onana shows class in touching moment after Champions League final

Inter Milan star Andre Onana has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was unable to help his side win the Champions League final against Manchester City despite putting in a brilliant performance.

City completed a famous treble as they lifted their first Champions League trophy after winning the Premier League and FA Cup this season. Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a new goalkeeper this summer with the futures of Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga uncertain ahead of next season.

Reports in Italy have stated the Blues have already agreed personal terms with Onana and had a £34 million bid for him rejected by Inter. Chelsea are set to meet with Inter to discuss Romelu Lukaku's future this month now the Champions League final is over, but it's likely that Onana will also be discussed when club chiefs come together.

The opening bid is £18m short of Inter's valuation of the goalkeeper. The Telegraph's Matt Law has claimed the Serie A side are demanding €60m (£52m) for his services this summer, leaving Blues owner Todd Boehly significantly short.

Fortunately for Chelsea, reports from Italy claim Onana 'would like to join the Premier League team', meaning the scheduled meeting between the two clubs has much resting on it. Following Inter's Champions League heartbreak, Onana was seen consoling team-mate Lautaro Martinez - who has also been touted as a potential target for Chelsea.

Despite clearly being devastated, the Cameroon international showed his class and character by speaking with his team-mate and urging them to remain proud of what they achieved this season. City won 1-0 in Istanbul thanks to Rodri's second-half strike after Onana had done a brilliant job of keeping Pep Guardiola's side quiet all night.
