Chelsea transfer rumours: Shock move for forgotten Man United man, N’Golo Kante exit plans

Chelsea have made some massive moves in the summer transfer window but there still may be some incomings and outgoings before the deadline.

The Blues landed the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz ahead of the new season but Frank Lampard is not done tinkering with his squad.

Chelsea still have eyes set on new additions and players could leave to recoup some of the summer money spent.

In light of this, here is the latest transfer rumours round-up on Chelsea.

When Kai Havertz could join up with the Chelsea squad

Sergio Romero eyed

Chelsea have been tipped to make a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

According to The Athletic, Frank Lampard could look to the United number two to solve his goalkeeping issue, who has also been linked with Leeds United and Everton.

The Blues are believed to be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer with Kepa Arrizabalaga failing to impress last season.

Kante could be sacrificed

Chelsea are willing to let N’Golo Kante leave the club this summer, with Frank Lampard keen to trim down his squad, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.

Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, per The Express, McGarry revealed that Kante would be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge for the right price.

McGarry said: “Chelsea are willing to let N’Golo Kante, a player who has been absolutely pivotal in a league-winning season for Chelsea, but they are willing to let him go.

“Obviously, this comes with a bit of balancing the books because you don’t spend £230 million in one window without having to trim your squad.”

Coutinho going nowhere

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has told the club he wants to keep hold of Philippe Coutinho.

According to Spanish publication Marca, the only way that he would be leaving this summer, is if a club came in with a huge permanent offer, but that isn't expected to happen.

Coutinho has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs over the summer, including Chelsea, but it now appears he will be staying with the Spanish giants.
