Chelsea transfer rumours: Rice remains on Lampard's radar, fans call for loanee's return

The prolonged summer transfer window only closed earlier this month, but already attentions are turning towards the winter transfer window.

The Blues enjoyed a hugely productive summer with the additions of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Edouard Mendy, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, and Hakim Ziyech.

However, it is inevitable Chelsea will consider freshening up their options in January should the opportunities arise, particularly defensively.

There are also a number of peripheral figures at the club who were not moved on, and the possibility of their exits will once again arise.

Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours for Sunday, October 25, as clubs begin to look ahead to the January transfer window.

Rice remains on radar

West Ham United’s Declan Rice was high on the list of priorities for Chelsea this summer and the club will renew their attempts to sign him in January, according to the Daily Star.

The 21-year-old has already clocked up more than 100 Premier League appearances and the Hammers are unlikely to let him go without a fight, but he could be tempted with a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, the decision could largely rest with the player and whether he decides to force West Ham into a sale in mid-season.

Emerson tipped for Italy return

Serie A trio Inter, Juventus, and Napoli are tracking Chelsea wing-back Emerson Palmieri ahead of a potential January transfer.

The details are outlined by Sky Sport Italia via Calciomercato, which claims the defender will return to Italian football later this season.

Emerson is behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, having joined the club in January 2018 from Roma.

Blues fans call for Ampadu return

Wales international Ethan Ampadu is one of the brightest young players to be developed at Chelsea in recent years and fans want him back at Stamford Bridge.

The versatile defender has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal having spent last term in the Bundesliga on loan at RB Leipzig.

Now football.london has highlighted how Blues fans want the player back as he would cover not only in the heart of defence but also in the holding midfield role.

Ampadu joined Chelsea from Exeter City in 2017 and impressed for the Blades in their narrow defeat at Anfield against Liverpool on Saturday.
