It looks set to be an extremely busy week or so for Chelsea, as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.
The Blues managed a top-four finish after beating Wolves on the final day of the season to ensure Champions League football would be staying at Stamford Bridge.
Since then, Timo Werner has joined the club, with Hakim Ziyech also completing a deal earlier in the year, with a host of other names also set to be close.
With that being said, here are the latest Chelsea transfer stories from around Europe.
Chilwell medical details
Chelsea are on the verge of signing Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell, with his medical set to take place in the next 48 hours, according to the Telegraph.
The Blues and the Foxes finally agreed on a deal for the left-back last week, and personal terms were finalised in quick succession.
Now, the 23-year-old needs to complete a medical at Stamford Bridge before he can officially be unveiled in the famous blue shirt.
The Telegraph are reporting that Chelsea have booked Chilwell in for a medical, and that will be completed in the next two days.
Havertz twist explained
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was initially quite reluctant to pay the big money for German attacker Kai Havertz, according to Sky Sports, via the Mirror.
The Blues are on the brink of completing a £90m deal for Havertz, reports say, but the Russian billionaire did have his initial reservations.
Abramovich was not pleased with the initial asking price of a full £90m, which is now set to be £70m and add-ons for the Bayer Leverkusen star.
It was only when the structure of the deal was changed that Abramovich could get on board with paying such a big fee.
Blues close to four new signings
As mentioned above, Chelsea are close to signing Chilwell and Havertz, but there are two more new faces set to walk through the door, according to Sky Sports.
Thiago Silva, who is now out of contract and looking for a club, is set to sign for the Blues in the upcoming days after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
Another centre-back and free agent, Malang Sarr, is also set to join Lampard’s squad, after leaving Nice once the Ligue 1 season concluded.
The 21-year-old, however, is set to be sent out on loan if he does indeed complete his move to Stamford Bridge.
