Chelsea transfer rumours: Lautaro Martinez 'enquiry' revealed, N'Golo Kante's future in doubt

With the summer transfer window nearly done and dusted across the leagues, Chelsea may still have some business that needs doing before the deadline.

Friday's 5pm deadline is the cut-off point for the domestic-only transfer deadline, and for the Blues, there could still be some potential outgoings.

Frank Lampard’s side brought in more than £200million worth of talent in the international transfer window and could now be looking at outgoings.

Here are the latest Chelsea-related transfer rumours.

Blues could sell Kante if Rice signs

Chelsea could look to sell midfielder N’Golo Kante if they can sign Declan Rice, according to the Daily Star.

Edouard Mendy injury news and who is likely to replace him

Rice was eyed by the Blues in the summer, but West Ham United wanted around £80m for the England international, something Lampard’s team were not willing to pay.

However, Chelsea are expected to revisit the situation in January, and if any move does happen, then Kante’s Stamford Bridge career could be in doubt.

The France midfielder has been linked with a move away from London, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United both reportedly interested.

Boro remain interested in Rahman

Middlesbrough are still interested in signing Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Goal reported earlier in the week that Boro and Watford were interested in signing Rahman, and recent reports suggest that Neil Warnock’s side still hold a firm interest.

The 26-year-old has only played 15 times in all competitions for the Blues since signing from Augsburg in 2015.

The Ghanaian has had four loan spells since arriving at Stamford Bridge; most recently at Mallorca.

Chelsea tried for Inter striker

Chelsea made a summer enquiry to Inter Milan for their striker Lautaro Martinez, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Blues signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, but if this report is to be believed, then Martinez could’ve been at Stamford Bridge this season instead.

However, the Argentine forward reportedly rejected Lampard’s side and said he would only leave Inter if it was for either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old scored 21 goals in 49 games for the Italian club in all competitions last season.
