Chelsea transfer rumours: Lampard's January admission, AC Milan stance on Giroud, exit likely

Chelsea's summer transfer window was an expensive one as over £200million worth of talent arrived at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues' new-look squad have been impressive so far this season, despite a slight dip in form recently, and with the January window edging closer, Frank Lampard could be ready to ask Roman Abramovich for a bit more money.

As well as this, Lampard has a few players in and around the squad that might want to leave the west London club next month.

With that said, here is the latest round-up of transfer stories and rumours on Chelsea ahead of January.

Milan rule out Giroud move

Italian club AC Milan have ruled out a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud as they look to bring in someone younger.

That's according to Tuttosport via Inside Futbol, with the Italian outlet claiming that having initially looked at Giroud, Milan are now considering signing someone young.

With 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the line for the Serie A giants, they want to be prepared for when the former Manchester United star eventually retires. Giroud has been in fantastic form for the Blues recently, but being 34-years-old has seemingly put Milan off.

Lampard unsure on January window

Chelsea boss Lampard didn't want to give too much away when he was asked about what the club will be doing in the January transfer window.

The Blues' £200m+ influx of players over the summer means that the mid-season period may not be as busy, but they could look to strengthen in order to keep pace with Liverpool and Tottenham at the top of the Premier League.

When asked in a press conference about January, the Chelsea manager admitted he was unsure about how the club will act.

Lampard said: "Firstly, I don't know about January. I'll consider January when it is here. So I've got the squad and we're working hard on the games that are in front of us."

Inter eye Emerson as Perisic replacement

Inter Milan are prepared to make a move for Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri in January if they sell Ivan Perisic, according to Tuttosport.

Perisic is being linked with a move away from the San Siro, with the Croatia international not pleased with being played at left wing-back in Antonio Conte's system.

Conte wants to improve the left wing-back role and could look to sell the 31-year-old in January, and will be looking back to one of his former clubs for a replacement. However, Chelsea want Emerson to leave the club on a permanent deal, whereas Inter would prefer a loan move.
