Chelsea transfer rumours: Juventus close in on double deal, Mendy medical to be completed

Chelsea are putting the final pieces of their squad together ahead of October's transfer deadline day after his summer of heavy recruitment.

Frank Lampard is said to be keen to add a goalkeeper to his ranks with only 13 days left to get this job done.

But it seems the Blues have got their man with reports claiming that Edouard Mendy is on the brink of putting pen to paper on a deal at Stamford Bridge.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding the club...

Chelsea set to wrap up goalkeeper transfer

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is sitting his medical today in Germany ahead of his move to Chelsea, reports in France claim.

The Rennes shot-stopper cannot travel to the UK to sit his examinations due to current coronavirus travel restrictions - but that should not stop him from becoming a Chelsea player this week.

Lampard has been linked with a €24m swoop for Mendy with current first-choice Kepa Arrizabalga slowly losing the trust of both the fans and his manager.

He made headlines once again on Sunday when his blunder handed Liverpool with a golden chance to double their lead and win the game.

Juventus close to landing ex-Chelsea star

Former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is on the brink of completing a move to Juventus.

The 27-year-old has touched down in Italy, the club last night confirmed, and will sit his medical checks in Turin before sealing his return to the club.

Morata made 93 appearances for Juve between 2014 and 2016, scoring 27.

During his two-year spell at Stamford Bridge, the Spain international hit 24 goals in 72 outings.

Italian giants keeping eye on defender

Juventus are also said to be keeping tabs on Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri.

That's according to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio who claims that, should Juve lose Mattia De Sciglio this summer, Emerson will become one of their top targets.

De Sciglio was left out of Juventus' clash with Sampdoria by boss Andeas Pirlo with the Italian boss perefering youngster Gianluca Frabotta.

Emerson has made 55 appearances since joining Chelsea in 2017, winning the Europa League with the club in 2019.
