Chelsea transfer rumours: Fikayo Tomori West Ham claim, Kepa Arrizabalga warning, loan exits

Chelsea have just over a week until the end of the domestic transfer window.

It means Frank Lampard still has time to bring players in from Premier League or Football League clubs.

And he could send some players out to help them get some more experience over the coming months.

The deadline is 5pm on Friday, October 16 - the end of the international break - for the deals to be finalised.

With that in mind, here are some of the latest Chelsea transfer rumours and gossip doing the rounds.

Extraordinary claim

West Ham United were so desperate to sign Blues defender Fikayo Tomori that they were prepared to pay £50,000 for every game he did NOT play for the Hammers.

That's the claim made by Jim White on TalkSport after David Moyes failed to bring in a new centre-back during the international transfer window.

White said: "They [West Ham] struck a deal with Chelsea, including a huge loan fee, for Fikayo Tomori.

“They had also agreed to pay Chelsea £50,000 every time he wasn’t selected to play for West Ham, on top of that.

“That was all done and two minutes to eleven Tomori said: ‘I’m staying, I don’t want to go’. The timing was wrong but they tried.”

Kepa fires warning to Mendy

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has fired a warning to his new fellow shotstopper Edouard Mendy.

The Spanish international, who is currently away on international duty, insists he is ready to fight for his place between the sticks despite a difficult start to the season.

The lowdown on Chelsea's transfer window and the moves that come next

"I’m confident I can turn it around and do my best when I play," said Arrizabalaga.

“In the life of a footballer there are ups and downs, but in the end what is in my hands is to work.

“I have demonstrated the level that I have, I trust the level that I have and I will continue to demonstrate it; this is the moment to trust yourself.

“In the medium to long term, things can change. I want to play, I want to be on the field and I will work for that.”

Youngster set for loan?

Defender Jake Clarke-Salter could once again be heading out of Chelsea on loan.

BirminghamLive report the 23 year old is set to sign for Birmingham City for the upcoming season.

The defender's chances of making the first team are slim as things stand, with players such as Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Tomori ahead of him.

Clarke-Salter is no stranger to the Midlands having been on loan at St Andrew's last season.

Watford eye Rahman

Watford have turned their attentions to Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman.

The Hornets are after a new player in his position and are said to be keen on taking the 26 year old on loan.

They have also been linked with a move for Leeds United's Barry Douglas.

The Evening Standard report Rahman is likely to head to the Championship on loan and Watford are one of several sides considering a move.
