Chelsea transfer rumours: Edouard Mendy waiting, Emerson to West Ham, Hudson-Odoi to Bayern

Chelsea have spent heavily this summer to bolster their ranks across the field, with an excess of £200m spent on new recruits by Frank Lampard.

Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz have all come through the door at Stamford Bridge but the transfer business is not over.

The Blues continue to be linked with a host of names before next month's transfer deadline, while a number of exits are on the cards to help balance the books.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding Lampard's side.

Mendy 'ready and waiting'

Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is 'ready and waiting' to seal a transfer to Chelsea imminently, French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi has stated.

The Blues are looking to sign the 28-year-old to provide competition between the sticks for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has flattered to deceive since his move to west London.

Chelsea have agreed a five-year contract with the stopper but Mendy is waiting in France for the green light to travel for his move to the Premier League.

A deal still needs to be agreed with Rennes and it's stated a figure of around £18m will see the Ligue 1 side agree to his exit.

Bayern back in for Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich have revived their interest in Chelsea ace Callum Hudson-Odoi and are optimistic that the Blues will be open to a sale, the Mail reports.

The 19-year-old was previously touted for a move to the Bundesliga last year but put pen to paper on a lucrative five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

However, the England international is targeting regular game time and Bayern believe Chelsea may be willing to listen to offers following their spending spree that has increased competition in the squad.

Bayern could face competition in the market though as it's added Juventus are also monitoring the teenager's situation.

West Ham eye Emerson

Inter Milan are still keen on signing Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea this summer but could face competition as West Ham have entered the market, the Guardian states.

The Italian side are expected to renew transfer talks with the Blues before next month's transfer deadline, having chased the full-back throughout the summer.

West Ham are interested in signing Emerson though but, as they prioritise a move for Burnley's James Tarkowski, the Hammers would prefer a loan deal.

Chelsea's preference would be to sell on a permanent basis but it remains to be seen whether an agreement with Inter can be thrashed out.
