Chelsea's Premier League title challenge is starting to falter and that might just be the inspiration to once again take a plunge in the transfer market.
The Blues made a statement last summer with several splashes by signing the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell.
But more may need to be done if the Blues are to truly fight for the Premier League trophy this season and in the coming years.
In light of this, we have the latest transfer news and rumours round-up on Chelsea.
Donnarumma talks
Chelsea have opened talks with agent Mino Raiola over the future of AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
That's according to TalkChelsea, who state that the Blues are looking to sign the goalkeeper this summer.
Edouard Mendy may have impressed at points this season since his arrival but he has been far from perfect, while Kepa Arrizabalaga's future at Stamford Bridge remains in doubt.
Now Chelsea are said to be in contact with Donnarumma's representatives about a summer move.
But this news comes on the back of reports that the goalkeeper could re-sign at Milan, with the club confident that the 21-year-old will stay in Italy.
Lampard hints at Chelsea exits
Frank Lampard has hinted that out of favour players will be shipped out permanently this month.
The likes of the aforementioned Kepa have dropped down in the pecking order at Chelsea. Now Lampard has explained that players such as the keeper could be sold.
Lampard said: "We have a big squad, we will see if that changes - if there are opportunities for players that aren't playing so much. That will be a conversation for the player, club and myself.
"Then we will see if we feel we can strengthen in the right way but we are not jumping up and down to do so.
"My focus this year is purely on work, because we have new players, because we have young players. I'm focusing on that. But we'll see. It's a long month."
Rice remains Chelsea's number one target
Chelsea have been linked with an endless list of players in recent months despite dropping more than £200million in the summer transfer window last year.
But the Blues continue to have their name splashed all over the rumour mill and the main name at the forefront of the club's next dip in the transfer market is Declan Rice.
The West Ham midfielder has long been linked with the Blues and despite names such as David Alaba also coming to the fore, Goal insists that Rice remains Chelsea's number one target in the transfer window this month.
