Chelsea transfer rumours: Declan Rice plan, Dean Henderson blow, defensive shortlist

Chelsea are on the hunt for new additions in the transfer market ahead of Frank Lampard's second season in charge of Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have already secured the additions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, with Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz next in line for a move.

Chelsea's transfer business will not stop there though and a host of other names have been linked with a move to West London.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest reports regarding the Blues.

Chelsea training session ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Declan Rice plan

Chelsea are looking to fund a move for West Ham's Declan Rice by offloading Jorginho in the summer transfer window, the Telegraph states.

Frank Lampard is a big fan of the England international and Rice, who left Chelsea at the age of 14, is keen on returning to West London.

However, West Ham have placed a hefty £65m asking price upon his head and Chelsea, having already signed Ziyech and Werner, and with Kai Havertz next, that price is an issue.

In order to solve that problem, Chelsea are offering Jorginho to suitors and hope to raise funds for Rice by offloading the Italy international.

Dean Henderson blow

Manchester United have prepared a lucrative new contract for Dean Henderson amid Chelsea's transfer interest in the stopper, according to the Transfer Window Podcast.

Henderson has excelled during his loan stint with Sheffield United and wants to have first-team football at Old Trafford, where he faces competition with David de Gea.

First-team football is crucial in the discussions regarding Henderson's future but it's stated he could get that opportunity with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Henderson could enter pre-season as United's number one goalkeeper and may then get his opportunity in the Premier League to dethrone De Gea.

Defensive shortlist

Chelsea will switch their attention in the transfer market to bolstering their defence after the Kai Havertz deal is tied up and have four defenders on their shortlist, The Athletic reports.

The aforementioned Declan RIce is top of the list but, with Chelsea also in the market for a new left-back and a goalkeeper, the Hammers' asking price is an issue.

Therefore, Brighton's Lewis Dunk, Burnley's James Tarkowski and Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez have been lined-up as alternative options.
