Chelsea’s summer transfer window can be considered a successful one in terms of the targets they landed.
However, the Blues do not know quite yet how the new group of players will settle in at Stamford Bridge.
But with so much undeniable talent now at Frank Lampard’s disposal, it could be an exciting season for his team.
Chelsea may look to add to their squad again in the January transfer window - which is now just under three months away - and here are some of the latest stories concerning the Blues.
Championship clubs interested in Blues man
A host of Championship sides are interested in a loan move for Chelsea’s Jake Clarke-Salter, according to Goal.
Clarke-Salter has turned down interest from abroad - with Club Brugge and Trabzonspor both keen - as the 23-year-old wants a move to the Championship again.
The defender spent last season on loan at Birmingham City, with the Blues once again interested in his services.
As well as Birmingham; Derby County, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday have all reportedly registered their interest in Clarke-Salter.
Former Hammer expects Rice bid
Former West Ham United defender Paul Konchesky believes Chelsea bid for Declan Rice is “only a matter of time”.
Rice was linked with the Blues throughout the summer, but Roman Abramovich was reluctant to pay the Hammers’ demand of £80m.
However, Konchesky thinks Chelsea will come back in for the England international, when speaking to CaughtOffside : “I think it’s a massive plus that they kept Declan, it’s like a new signing.
“But I think the club knows if they or Declan go on to having a good season, then maybe it’s only a matter of time before someone comes in to make a bid for him. At the minute, I think you’d be looking at £60m-plus for him.”
Inter could look for Alonso loan deal
Italian club Inter Milan could look to sign Marcos Alonso on loan in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Sport Mediaset (via Sempre Inter ).
Alonso was linked with a move to the San Siro for the majority of the summer, with Chelsea signing Ben Chilwell as their new first-choice left-back.
The 29-year-old was a target for his former manager Antonio Conte, and the Italian coach could look for a reunion with the Spaniard in January.
Alonso has been at Stamford Bridge since 2016, and has two years remaining on his current deal.
